Our Residential Plumbing Services
Faucet Repair & Installation
We repair and install faucets throughout your home, including kitchen sinks, bathroom vanities, and utility sinks. Whether your faucet is dripping constantly, has low water pressure, or needs to be replaced entirely, we can handle it. We work with all major faucet brands and can help you select a replacement that fits your needs and budget if installation is required.
Toilet Repair & Replacement
From running toilets to complete replacements, we handle all toilet-related issues. We repair fill valves, flappers, and other components that commonly wear out. If your toilet is old, constantly running, or beyond economical repair, we can install a new one that provides better water efficiency and reliable performance.
Water Heater Services
We install and service all types of water heating systems, including traditional tank water heaters, tankless water heaters, and hybrid electric models. Tankless systems provide endless hot water and take up less space in your home. Hybrid electric water heaters combine tank storage with heat pump technology, offering environmental benefits and lower energy costs compared to standard electric water heaters.
If you’re not sure which type of water heater makes sense for your home, we’ll explain the differences and help you understand which option best fits your usage patterns and budget.
Drain Cleaning & Clog Removal
Slow drains and clogs are among the most common plumbing problems we address. We clear clogs in kitchen sinks, bathroom drains, tubs, showers, and main drain lines. Most clogs can be cleared quickly with professional tools and techniques. If you’re dealing with persistent drainage issues or frequent clogs in the same location, we can investigate further to identify underlying problems.
Pipe Repair & Replacement
We repair and replace water supply lines and drain pipes throughout your home. Whether you have a visible leak, reduced water pressure, or pipes that are simply old and need updating, we can assess the situation and recommend the appropriate solution. We work with various pipe materials and can help you understand your options if replacement is needed.
Garbage Disposal Services
We install, repair, and replace garbage disposals. If your disposal isn’t working, is making unusual noises, or has developed leaks, we can diagnose the problem and either repair it or recommend a replacement if that makes more economic sense.
Fixture Installation
We install new plumbing fixtures throughout your home, including sinks, faucets, toilets, showerheads, and tub fixtures. Whether you’re updating fixtures as part of a bathroom refresh or replacing something that’s worn out, we ensure proper installation and leak-free operation.
General Plumbing Repairs
Not every plumbing problem fits into a neat category. We handle all types of residential plumbing repairs, from mysterious leaks to pressure problems, unusual noises to fixture issues. If something’s not working right with your home’s plumbing, we’ll figure out what’s causing it and fix it properly.
What to Expect When You Call
When you contact Michalek Plumbing, you’ll speak directly with our office. We’ll ask about what you’re experiencing, help you understand what might be happening, and schedule a time for our licensed plumber to assess the situation. We don’t use answering services or automated systems—you’ll talk with a real person who can actually help you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge for estimates?
We provide free estimates for most plumbing work. However, if we need to diagnose a problem to determine what’s wrong, there is a diagnostic fee. This fee covers the time and expertise involved in properly identifying the issue. Once we understand what needs to be done, we’ll provide a clear estimate for the repair. If you decide to move forward with the recommended work, the diagnostic fee typically applies toward the total cost.
Can you usually fix problems on the first visit?
For common repairs like faucet leaks, toilet issues, or simple drain clogs, we often have the necessary parts on our truck and can complete the work during the initial visit. More complex repairs or installations may require ordering specific parts or planning for a longer work window, in which case we’ll schedule a return visit. We’ll always let you know what to expect before we leave.
Do you work on weekends?
Our regular business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. We don’t offer weekend or emergency plumbing services. If you have a plumbing issue outside our business hours, you may need to shut off water to the affected fixture or your main water supply until we can schedule a visit during business hours. We’ll be happy to help you when we’re back in the office.
How do I know if I need to replace my water heater or if it can be repaired?
Several factors determine whether repair or replacement makes more sense. If your tank water heater is more than 6-7 years old, has significant rust or corrosion, or requires expensive repairs, replacement is often the better long-term investment. Tankless water heaters typically last around 15 years, while hybrid electric models average about 9 years. For newer units with minor issues, repair usually makes economic sense. We’ll assess your water heater’s condition and age, explain what’s wrong, and give you an honest recommendation about repair versus replacement.
What should I do if I have a leak and can’t get anyone out right away?
First, try to locate the shut-off valve for the affected fixture and turn it off. Most sinks, toilets, and water heaters have individual shut-off valves nearby. If you can’t find a local shut-off or the leak is in a supply line, you may need to turn off your home’s main water supply. The main shut-off is typically near your water meter or where the water line enters your home. Turning off water will stop the leak until we can get there to make repairs.
Do you install water heaters I purchase myself, or do I need to buy through you?
We can install water heaters you’ve purchased, though we typically recommend letting us supply the unit. When we provide the water heater, we can ensure it’s the right size and type for your needs. The unit warranty comes from the manufacturer. If you’ve already purchased a water heater, call us to discuss—we’ll let you know if we can work with the unit you’ve bought.
How long do water heaters typically last?
Traditional tank water heaters typically last 6-7 years, which aligns with standard manufacturer warranties. Tankless water heaters often have longer lifespans of around 15 years. Hybrid electric models typically last about 9 years. We recommend yearly water heater flushes to maintain efficiency—while this doesn’t guarantee an extended lifespan, it does help ensure your water heater operates at peak performance. Lifespan also depends on water quality and usage patterns. If your tank water heater is approaching the 6-7 year mark, it’s worth having it inspected to catch potential problems before they become emergencies.
